Shopbop’s big end-of-season sale launches today. It’s a progressive sale, so the more you buy, the more you save. It’s a good opportunity to pick up a pricey pair of shoes or a great dress for work at a discount. Or you can go the other way, and aggregate several mid-price items. You can even use the discounts on sale items, so hurry over!
As for my picks for the sale, I stuck mostly to casual clothes. I’m currently cleaning out my closet and need to replace a handful of staple pieces, so I have weekend clothes on the brain. Check out my selections in the slider below.
Hey so check this out. I order from Shopbop all the time, and I was about to use this code to order a very pricey Smythe blazer. When I went to check out, I noticed I have two “gift certificates,” which were clearly from prior returns. This is odd because I had assumed I was refunded in my original form of payment. I called customer service and they explained that they refund to gift certificates when you’re more than a month late returning the item. This is something I literally never do. I return stuff the same week, always. So they are clearly messing with their processing in order to avoid issuing returns. Secondly, there is nothing about this on their website, that I can find anyway. I won’t be ordering that $600 blazer, and I won’t order anything else from them that costs more than the two gift certificates are worth. After I spend those, I’m done with that company, which sucks because they have cool stuff. But I can’t have hundreds of dollars on random store credits just because something didn’t fit, etc.
I ran into this problem myself. I emailed them and was told that you have 30 days to return an item for original form of payment. I started sending things back with a tracking number (which is free on UPS), and had to challenge one return. It’s not an ideal policy, but it is on the website.
“If your package arrives at Shopbop within the 30-day timeline specified above, your refund will be processed in the original form of payment within 5 business days. You will be notified via email to the address listed on your account when this transaction has taken place. Your banking institution may require additional days to process and post this transaction to your account once they have received the information from Shopbop.”
Yea I can’t be bothered to track my returns that carefully or else face basically losing hundreds of dollars. No time and even less inclination. I am positive they are gaming this to avoid making returns, especially now hearing that you were able to successfully “challenge” such an action. And the fact that it does not take a MONTH to get to Wisconsin. Not Pakistan. Not Antarctica. Wisconsin. Unacceptable– that’s BBB territory. I’d rather pay Nordstrom $100 more for the dang blazer.
Shopbop didn’t issue a refund to my credit card until I called them out on it… 2 months after they received the returned item. I’m wary of their business practices.
