Casual Style: A Chic Layered Look

As we finish out the winter season, I’m trying to wear what I already have in my closet. So a casual layered look is right up my alley. Whether you’re wearing this outfit on the weekend to run errands or to a Mommy-and-Me class, nothing looks better than a flawless, effortless layered look.

This easy, layered look found on Pinterest is so good. Not trying too hard. Not overwhelming to style yourself. Just thoughtfully chosen pieces, put together to create a simple, casual look. Here’s how to recreate it.

The Sweater // A great, textured sweater is a must have. Something with a really chunky weave always looks more expensive than a thin, flat sweater. Add the perfect amount of slouch and your golden.

This Abercrombie sweater gives you a similar texture in an affordable package. This LL Bean sweater has a cool, relaxed vibe; size up for a slouchier feel. Need something unique with a modern weave? This Walmart sweater is a cool option.

Joggers // Need a break from leggings? A looser fitting pair of joggers are a slight more pulled together option. This Athleta pair is my favorite option; they wear like iron. Shoes // I am developing a bit of a sneaker problem. I went from owning one pair of gym shoes to six pairs of sneakers. Apparently, I’ve gone full Mom. But I still prefer a dark pair to a light pair, so I picked this Adidas pair with a low-profile style. Want something chunkier? You know that a recommendation for my New Balance 327s is always on the tip of my tongue.

Accessories // The bag in the inspiration photo is an accent piece that doesn’t quite fit, and that’s completely intentional. This isn’t a gym bag, or a crossbody, or a nylon tote; it’s a leather tote bag with a chic bamboo handle. It would look more at home at a country club brunch than running errands. But that juxtaposition makes the look a bit unexpected and totally cool
