As the temperatures drop, I need a jacket to wear in the morning. I’d like something casual to wear to nursery school or on walks that can get dirty, but also looks cool. I’ve decided on a fleece jacket with large pockets (because I need to carry stuff). So here are a few options that fit the bill.
Elected Official
Canada Goose Simcoe Coat ($650)
Legislative Aide
Varley Eleanor Oversized Jacket ($188)
Front Desk
Land’s End Fleece Sherpa Jacket ($65)
Plus-Size
Columbia Lodge Sherpa Jacket ($60)

A rant (not directed at you, Abra!) because I am cranky today: I hate it that “Sherpa” has become synonymous with a particular type of fabric. Actual Sherpas are Tibetan people who live in the Himalayas and, among other things, famously guide people to the top of Mount Everest.
This is a valid issue, especially given the struggles of the Sherpas. This article does a good job of discussing the issues facing this community with relation to the mountain climbing industry in particular. https://protocolmag.com/2022/03/14/ethics-and-the-himalayas-the-commodification-of-the-sherpa-people/

I just bought a fleece in a really cool print from the men’s section at backcountry dot com, they had an interesting selection outside of the brands I normally think to browse.
