My life is in massive flux right now. I am sometimes in an office, sometimes not. Sometimes, I’m wearing a sleek sheath dress or a pencil skirt and blouse. Other times, I’m wearing leggings and a chambray shirt with no bra. It’s a pandemic; I’m done trying to bring order to chaos.
But regardless of what I’m wearing, this sweater goes with everything. And I mean everything.
J.Crew’s Juliette Sweater layers over any outfit and makes it better. It comes in black, pale grey, and camel. The material is a wonderful mid-weight knit that drapes beautifully. And if you want to save a bit of money, it’s on sale at Zappos in several sizes and colors.
The sweater comes in XXS to 3X. Finding your right size depends on the fit you like. I’m a size 6. I wear a small for a more relaxed, comfortable fit. I wear an XS for a sleeker fit. But how do you style it?
+ I layer it over a slim sheath for work.
+ I also wear it over a tailored shirtdress.
+ I toss it on over this jumpsuit (which I also own and love).
+ I wear it with a shirt or sweater in the same color palette and a pair of jeans.
+ Or, if I feel like wearing soft clothes that day, I layer it over a shirt tail t-shirt, leggings and sneakers.
I told you, it goes with everything.
This sweater in pale grey was a lifesaver on so many days when my dress or outfit needed a topper, but I didn’t want to be pinned in a blazer all day. So if you’re headed back to the office and aren’t ready to trade your soft clothes for hard ones, one of these sweaters will become your savior piece on days when you just aren’t feeling a blazer.
It was the single best item I bought for my return to work.

My Juliette is the biggest workhorse in my wardrobe after my Madewell jeans – and I don’t even require workwear. Someone gave it to me in camel (my worst color) but it goes with everything and makes it look that much more pulled together. After two years, it’s still in great shape, too. Getting gray this fall.
I have the camel Juliette and a charcoal Sophie knit blazer. They’re both tremendously versatile and help me feel a little less frumpy on the rare occasions I am leaving the house these days.
I have the pale grey as well and absolutely love it! The Juliette sweater is perfect.
Do you all send the Juliette to the dry cleaners? Several years ago I made the decision to stop buying clothes that need special care, so if I can’t machine wash it, I don’t buy it. But. This sweater would plug a wardrobe hole. . .
It’s not quite as long, but I bought the Jcrew Factory sweater blazer instead of the Juliette as I felt the Juliette was a bit too long on my smallish frame, and I hate dry-clean only pieces. It is GREAT and I now have two.

I have this in 3 colors, I love it so much. The factory version doesn’t have wool, which is a big plus for it in my book. I put mine in the wash on delicate and then put them on a drying rack. They’ve held up well.
Oh, and the factory version ( which I think is called Vanessa ) has inset pockets instead of patch ones, so it looks more finished.
