While it may seem odd that a blogger that writes about office fashion loves to write about lingerie, I love it because I believe that the clothes you wear have power.
Your work attire has the ability to project belonging, professionalism and power. It has the ability to ease your way, and acts both as a uniform and an armor. Lingerie has that same kind of power. The right piece can make you feel beautiful, sexy, and confident.
Lingerie should fit your taste and your body. For more tips on how to find the perfect lingerie for you, visit the post discussing my lingerie rules or last year’s post. If you’ve never purchased lingerie before, I recommend ordering several styles to try on in the comfort of your own home before choosing.
Before we get to the recommendations, let’s start with where I shop for lingerie.
If you’re looking for something fabulous, Bloomingdale’s has a wonderful selection. This Implicite Taboo bra set is just perfection in black. Or for something more relaxed, try this Eberjey Anouk bralette set.
Shopbop always has a curated selection of lingerie that runs the gamut from semi-affordable to shockingly expensive. My favorite brand they carry is Journelle, followed closely by Fleur de Mal.
But my favorite store is Agent Provocateur. It’s pricey, gorgeous, and always fits like a dream. This heart print set and their nude/black Joan bra caught my eye.
Shopping on a budget? H&M sells out too quickly online, so I prefer ASOS. It stocks more sizes and styles at better prices than anyone else. I mean the back detail on this Ann Summers thong is just so fun that you don’t need to wear anything else.
The bra and panty set is the classic lingerie option. It can be pretty and classic. It can be racy and sexy. And if your tastes run to the risqué, the hottest label right now is Thistle & Spire. Their Kane Cutout bra is the pinnacle of less is more. (In black, up to 36DD on their site.) I also love this Minna Bra, which has a bit more coverage but the same amount of style.
Another brand to check out is the baroness of burlesque, Dita von Teese. Her line runs up to 42F, but finding the larger sizes means hunting a bit because they sell out first. Her Roses Underwire is perfectly pretty. But the scallop trim on her Star Lift bra is my absolute favorite. If you’re looking for something in the 40+ band size, try her Sheer Witchery bra that makes full coverage pretty by making the top of the cup out of sheer illusion.
My favorite set this year comes to us from Fleur de Mal. I adore this Lily bra in a bold purple. I also loved this Bluebella set with a lace cap sleeve. And my favorite sets under-$50 option are this INC heart-printed set and this b.tempted set.
As a small-busted woman, it is very difficult for me to shop for bras for women whose cup size is larger than what is typically stocked. This is a challenge that you can tackle until you’ve experienced it. But I liked this Scantilly bra by Curvy Kate.
Say the phrase “eyelash lace” and I am there. So this Scarlett Eyelash Lace Teddy falls squarely into my wheelhouse. Also, this black Bluebella bodysuit with a glamorous silk bow tying up the halter-neck.
I also like this Oh La La Underwire Teddy in navy blue (also in plus-size) and this Ann Summers bodysuit, which is a pure classic.
Want something totally impractical? Haughty makes this strappy fishnet bodysuit and this Hera fishnet teddy (which thank goodness is just $29, because it will not survive the night).
Looking for a corset? Agent Provocateur is the gold standard, as in you will need gold to pay for it. But this Mercy Lace Corset is divine. This satin Dorina Andersen corset is the closest thing I can find under-$100.
This Oh La La Chemise has a wonderful mix of lace textures and a cool styling to it. It’s only available in plus-size.
This cobalt Black Bow chemise is lovely. I also like this Hanky Panky After Midnight babydoll in black. The sheer star print on this Honeydew Intimates halter babydoll is also fabulous. Or if you need color, try this burgundy option from Oh La La.
Prefer something easy, with no underwire, that isn’t fussy? This Palindrome lace romper is pretty, but still sexy. Or turn up the heat a bit with this Seven til Midnight Wire Free Romper. Try this similar plus-size item from Bare Necessities.
Or if you are in the market for a simple nightgown that is more Valentine’s Day than Girls’ Night In, this INC long lace nightgown or Dreamgirl sheer mesh full length gown are worth a look.

That’s it for today. Over the rest of the week, we’ll discuss some reader requested items, and some pretty pajamas for those who are more interested in a cute sleep set than a lacy underwire.

Wow – amazing selection of options posted – thanks!
These are so beautiful! Thanks for a great roundup!
My go to is the Rosie for autograph line at Marks and Spencer. Got hooked while living in England but still buying now that I have relocated. The fit is great (maybe runs slightly smaller than us sizes) and I think the quality is excellent for the price. Princess Tam Tam is also amazing!
My favorite post of the year!!!!
Ordered a new piece – thanks for the inspo!
