When life get busy, my wardrobe gets simplified. Jeans plus t-shirt. Jersey dress plus sandals. Gauze pants + gauze shirt. No thinking, no styling, just clothes on body. Today’s outfit is a look that does both styling and ease, probably with pieces you already own.
Found on Pinterest, I love how this look takes two easy, classic pieces and adds a little something extra through accessories. It’s pulled together, it’s style, but it’s not difficult to pull off. And thank goodness, because dressing a toddler is an Olympic sport, and I don’t need my outfit to take longer than five-minutes to assemble.
Shirt // If you have not yet purchased a striped button down for summer, consider this your reminder. Even I, a woman who does not wear a lot of button ups, wears my striped blue-and-white one at least once a week. It’s great for an impromptu dinner at a casual restaurant or a Zoom meeting. It also looks great with denim shorts over a swimsuit.
I purchased this Ralph Lauren option, which is more of a tunic length. I really like the slightly darker stripe. Another great option is this LOFT shirt with a cool pocket detail. Plus-size? This Poplin Shirt is a great option. For a more relaxed option, this linen shirt from Faherty is beloved.
Jeans // A very dark, wide leg style is a great option for year-round wear. These jeans are easily dressed up or down, and they look great on my many body types. Spanx makes a great pair in dark indigo that come in petite and tall lengths as well. Talbot’s also has a fantastic pair in a more relaxed material.
Prefer a chino for summer? I love these cropped Boden chinos in a dark navy. For a wide leg version in full length, LOFT has this pair, which are a great option.
Bag // This Demellier New York purse is everywhere, you can find it on influencers who only wear designer and influencers who wear retail brands. The styling and price point make it a great slightly-splurgey option. The shape is fabulous. The size is great for women who need space. And the styling looks high end. For a more affordable bag with a similar vibe, that isn’t a straight knock off, try this New Bella tote.
Shoes // The shoes in the photo are a braided flip-flop. For a slightly more versatile choice, I selected these Arezzo Paulo sandals. I like that the ankle strap and cage front. I find these to be a little easier to dress up, which makes them more wearable. I think they would be fabulous with many outfits, especially a pretty floral dress.
Accessories // Amazon sells this great scarf in many prints and styles. It’s a great thing to tie onto a bag to give it new life. It’s a stylish and affordable option for bringing color to a simple look.
I addition to the scarf, the inspiration photo features a lot of chunky jewelry. I love how this large, bohemian jewelry plays with the slightly prissy silk scarf. It’s a nice juxtaposition. For this look, I selected a chunky dome ring and this statement labradorite ring from BR. The labradorite ring in particular brings in a pretty, natural element.
Lastly, I like the white nail polish to lighten up the look. White is an underrated pedicure color as it is both neutral and very fashion forward. Also, I think wearing your hair up in a loose, low bun gives this outfit a very relaxed look.

looove this look! how you find outfit inspo on pinterest? i’m a very visual person and have tried (in vain) to find full outfit snaps like this, to no avail. i usually find myself with mostly ads and off topic images. any advice on search terms, etc.?
I bought these LOFT chinos and they arrived yesterday. They are amazing and seem much higher quality than the price point. I had the striped blouse from a prior post and would not have thought of black sandals, but I have some and they really give the outfit something extra. Wearing this today, thanks for all the outfits, I appreciate them!!!
