This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds.
Just going to leave this right here. (I really need to work on “Didn’t make any mistakes.”)
When I was growing up, the neighborhood mothers would go to “color parties” where a professional would determine whether they were a summer, a winter, an autumn, or a spring and then tell them what colors they look best in. While initially an obsession, color analysis was mostly a joke by the late 90s. So imagine my shock that it is back, and back in a big way thanks to TikTok. But instead of spending hundreds of dollars on a professional, @sharoncancio shows you how to do color analysis using ChatGPT and a phone camera.
Imagine walking into book club or a cookout with this gorgeous crudités with pink goat cheese from Jenny’s Table. I mean, who knew a veggie tray could be gorgeous?
Yesterday in the Facebook Community, we started a discussion about nail polish colors for summer. This OPI Bridgitte is one of my faves. Leave yours in the comments.
Instagram fed me this Glamour article about “micro-feminism.” This was new term for me, but it’s a very interesting read and a great way to start a discussion about how small, daily actions contribute to overall equality.

I have been curious about getting colors done! This was a neat trick! Though I tried several photos and got different results. The most common result was completely not what I was expecting! Thanks for the fun distraction while waiting for my daughter to fall asleep!
Re: microsfeminism.
I overheard my teenage son’s friend saying that another boy “drives like a woman”. Eyeroll. I loudly said “wow. That must mean he’s an awesome driver.” Everyone was embarrassed, except for me.
That veggie tray is gorg. Thanks for sharing that find.
I got my colors done through a House of Colour local affiliate. There are several other options, but I do recommend going in person. It’s so much better in natural light and in person. It has truly changed my approach to my wardrobe, dressing for big events, etc. It’s the best!!
I got my colors done a few years ago, and it was almost a relief! I no longer felt the need to try to make some colors work (anything warm lol), and it has helped me be choosy as I shop. I’m not militant about my “colors” at all, but since it’s a palette I love, it’s been easy to edit my closet and stick with it.
I gifted a consult to my mom for mother’s day, and she laughed and said she did one back in the late 80s/early 90s! But she had fun doing it again!
