My Best Picks Cyber Week Sales

Nov 21, 2023

So many sales.  When I open my Instagram, it’s just post after post about sales.  Every sale.  And so many items from each sale.

Do I need to see 13 sweaters from J.Crew?  How many times in a two-month period can I be bombarded with people’s Shopbop Sale Favorites, which are somehow different than their last group of favorites?  Are influencers all on the same mailing list that tells you what focus-grouped choices to promote to make the most money?  Come on, you didn’t all pick those boots.

The sale obsession is mostly lost on me.  Sure, I like a deal.  What I don’t like is an impulse buy.  So here is a curated list of sales that I am actually shopping, as an addendum to last week’s list, if you see something you like, add it to your cart.  If you remember it in six hours, buy it.  Let’s go.

Summersalt // For Cyber Week they have 30% off everything.  This is a retailer that I purchased a haul from two weeks ago to give a few things a gander.  Basically, I ordered 15 items before the final sale started and then, I returned all but two.  However, the credit only option would leave me shopping this sale sparingly.  Remember, if you don’t like the item, you can use the credit to buy a new swimsuit when summer comes.

First off, this velvet blazer is the perfect holiday jacket.  Wear it over a cocktail dress, or with a white button up, or just layer it over a graphic tee.  Then, keep it in your closet for next year. Loved it.

The turtleneck sweater above is a cashmere blend, as is this gorgeous camel sweater.  I would have totally kept these, but my wool allergy has gotten really bad.  Regardless, they’re awesome, and I know a lot of Moms who would be happy to see that beautiful blue one under the tree.

The other item I kept was matching pajamas for my family for Christmas.  Yes, I’m going to be that Mom.  Yes, Kyle is going to pretend to like it.  I mean, look how cute Sloane’s are!  Can you even stand it?!

Ray-Ban // Amazon is having a Ray-Ban sale.  My favorite all black pair and my favorite black and gold pair are on deep discount.

Athleta // The retailer is doing a more limited sale, which I prefer.  I own their Whisper Jacket, and I love that it’s longer in the back.  I will warn you though, it is only medium-warm.  Totally fine for the Mid-Atlantic or the PNW, but I would absolutely freeze to death in this in Montana.  But at $99, it’s the perfect Fall/Spring jacket.  A great gift.  It also comes in a longer, parka style.

I also own these Brooklyn Heights pants.  They’re perfect for travel or weekends or work from home.  Especially that last one.

Nordstrom // There is some really good s**t in Nordstrom’s Black Friday sale.  But, I won’t lie, it’s an egg hunt.  So if you need some alone time tomorrow night, grab your iPad and scroll through it.  I recommend sorting by size, and maybe price point.

I grabbed a couple of the Natori bras I like because half-off was too good to pass up. The color block Vince Camuto sweater that was on the blog a few weeks back is in the sale, but (fair warning) it’s selling out fast.  Also, if you buy only one thing, pick up the most comfortable boots I have ever, ever owned from Blondo.

Finally, if you need gifts, I cannot recommend this AllSaints crossbody or this Coravin wine preservation device for under-$100 enough.  I’d gift that last one with my current favorite bottle of red.  (I almost never drink wine because it gives me a headache, this one does not.)

Shopbop // The retailer is doing 25% off with code HOLIDAY.  I meant what I said, this is their 438th sale this fall, but I still love these jeans, so I’m going to promote them.  Everything from Alex Mill is worth buying, especially this cardigan.  Mini-pearl hoops are also amazing, and under-$50.

For gifts, Printworks always has cool things.  I love this Chinese Checkers set.  They are my go to stop for when I need a cool gift that still has enough utility that people will use it.

Bluemercury // It’s a progressive sale, which I usually hate, but I needed some things that I didn’t want to pay full-freight for, so here we are.  Multiple people have told me this Nood hair remover works.  It takes discipline and time, but it will stop the hair from growing back.  Other than that, pick up you daily driver skincare at this sale.  Just stick it in a Ziplock and put it in your crisper drawer until you need it.

That’s really all I have for sales because while I could go crazy, why?  We all have budgets to think about and I’d rather make good picks that I stand behind than throw up every discounted sweatsuit from Amazon.

Abra, your gift guides are great! Thanks for not posting the same sh!$ as so many other blogs. I have the Summersalt Sidestroke and really like it, so may pick up another one, although not great support for my 36DDs. But fine for lounging.
I bought the Nood a couple months ago! It takes forever to go over an area but I think I am seeing some progress. I will report back in a few months if you end up doing a post on it.

On the note about mailing lists telling folks what to promote, the short answer is yes; absolutely yes. It’s so transparent,

The Brooklyn Heights pants really are fabulous! I bought them after you recommended them, and they truly can be dressed up or down, and are incredibly comfortable
