When jumpsuits became popular in the 2010s, I intentionally let the bandwagon pass me by. Then, the pandemic came. When using a public restroom while wearing a jumpsuit was eliminated from the list of considerations, I was fully on board. And as I approach a summer of casual Fridays and weekend trips, jumpsuits are re-entering the rotation.
This outfit from Fashion Jackson is a great option for weekend or travel. If you work in a business casual or remote work environment, it’s also a nice pick for that. The looks is casual, but pulled together in a chic way. It’s also very easy to replicate.
Denim Jacket // 1822 Recycled Denim Jacket // A great denim jacket is a piece we all need for summer. It freshens up any outfit, and keeps you warm on chilly nights. This 1822 jacket is a nice mix of style and casual.
For something under-$100, try this Jacqueline Denim Jacket. Prefer a darker wash? Try this Amelia jacket or this one from LOFT. Need a plus-size option? Try Liverpool Los Angeles.
Jumpsuit // Everlane Linen Jumpsuit // Everlane the original hipster retailer has fantastic jumpsuits (no surprise). This linen cross front option is perfect for summer weekends. This sleeveless jumpsuit is nice also.
This Tahari sleeveless option has a ruffle detail on the shoulder. If you prefer long-sleeves, try this Nikki Lund jumpsuit. If jersey is more your speed, try this Outnet option. Plus-size? This tie-front jumpsuit from City Chic is awesome.
Sandals // These Hermes knock-offs are the <$40 sandal that you need for summer. They are very popular among the crowd of influencers, and are very likely to sell out. My number one choice are these braided strap Dolce Vita sandal.
Accessories // This slouchy hobo bag from DSW is affordable and chic. I think it fits the relaxed vibe of the outfit better than the large satchel in the inspiration photo.
Oversized sunglasses are still my favorite poolside look. These Marc Jacobs shades give you all of the 1950s movie star at Chateau Marmont vibes you need. Add in these modern, sqaure-shaped hoops and you get a look that winks at the present and the past.
It’s definitely pedicure season. This siren red from Chanel is one of my favorites. It has just the right amount of fuchsia.

This is a great outfit! My husband hates my denim jacket, but I think it’s super cute and goes with almost everything. I’m old enough to remember denim jackets being a past fashion fad, then disappearing, then reappearing. So I plan to keep mine forever, even when I’m not wearing it frequently.
Yes, I remember that also! Like no one wore one and then, boom, wardrobe staple.
I’m still wearing one you recommended from Anthro back in your early DC days – can’t thank you enough for that! It’s served me better than probably any other piece of clothing in my closet in the past 10-ish years
Great outfit! The denim jacket from Loft that you linked is a really good one this year. I got the lighter wash one and it will be in heavy rotation this spring/summer.
