I’m so sorry you’re dealing with PPA, but I am glad you’re talking about it. So many people have only heard of PPD (which should be well known and taken very seriously). I even had medical professionals not know about PPA. Very frustrating. I’m not here to post advice (you already know you should seek out professionals for that), but wanted you and your readers to know that PPA is much more common than anyone realizes and no one should dismiss you by saying “well, that’s normal to worry about your baby” or “you’re just being overly emotional from the hormones.” Sending love and support through the interwebs!

The postpartum hormones are truly horrifying sometimes. I wish setting up an appointment with a therapist for postpartum was a regular step in prenatal care. Warnings of the ‘baby blues’ are really too understated.

I also struggled with PPA after the birth of both of my sons. I found that my family and friends were less observant of it as it doesn’t come with the classic PPD symptoms, e.g. i was still getting up every day, showering, getting dressed, etc. I just felt so off and like the weight of a thousand moons was on my shoulders.
I’m glad you’re getting the treatment you need, and I”m glad you’re talking about it.

On a funny side note, I once drove to work with my Ugg slippers. I have the model with a huge pompom on top. Thankfully I keep shoes in the office
