I’m in an odd predicament. Starting next month, I’ll be working all week, plus Saturdays in an office. We’re usually done with work by noon, but figuring out what to wear on a semi-dressy day that only lasts three hours is always a challenge. Especially when the last thing you want to do is get up and go to work.
This white and oatmeal look from Oh What I Sight to See is a lovely option for winter. I tweaked it to fit my style a bit, but I think I ended up with a soft-neutral outfit that is relaxed, but still professional.
Coat // This Madewell Estate Coat is a great cocoon style with casual details. It has a minimalist look that blends well into a professional or casual outfit.
Looking for something a bit dressier? This Calvin Klein wrap coat is a wonderful mid-price coat with a dramatic shape. I also love the bold buttons on this funnel neck coat from Marks and Spencer. Plus-size? Try the Madewell coat or this tweed Gallery coat.
Sweater // I went with a sweater instead of a blouse; I wanted something warmer. This textured Boden Normanton sweater is a nice piece with a lot of interesting accents. I like the fun fringe.
This ruffle sweater from ASTR is also a great option. For something more affordable, try this puff-sleeve sweater. Need cotton? Try this pom-pom sweater.
Jeans // These cropped Banana Republic jeans are surprisingly awesome. My only suggestion is to size up one size to accommodate for the high-waist style.
Accessories // This red tote from Tory Burch is discounted for the holiday season. It’s got a triple compartment style for easy storage. Need a more affordable option? This <$75 Mali and Lili bag is worth a look.
These comfortable flats from Corso Como are nice for work or weekend. These Let’s Twist flats from Modcloth are a great chesnut color. Need a wider width? Try these Franco Sarto flats.
Lastly, I chose these pearl earrings from Kate Spade. They have a unique oblong shape that makes them a touch more modern. If you’re not into pearls, try these mother-of-pearl studs from Wolf & Badger or this sleek pair from Savvy Cie.

I love this outfit, but in practice how could you change this outfit for colder days? The outfit has a jacket and sweater for warmth but your ankles are exposed to the cold!
I live in Texas so I always have trouble styling workwear when I’m bundled up on top but I only own basic flats or heels so my feet and ankles are always cold.
YES! I cannot figure out winter dressing sometimes, most of my pants/jeans are cropped so they’re never full length. Flats are too cold but all of my boots seem to look weird.
100% yes! I cannot figure out how to style warmer, professional shoes with work pants.
Nice outfit – this is great outside of work too!
