Happy Hour: Bourbon Chai Tea

Ah, the joys of hot cocktail season.  Just grab a steaming, cozy cup of cheer and a good book and enjoy a little break from the hustle and bustle of life.  And today’s hot cocktail contains one of my favorite things, chai tea.

This Bourbon Chai is made with a wheated Bourbon, like Maker’s Mark, chai tea concentrate and a delicious spiced bourbon cream.  The whipped cream is what really makes this special, so I recommend using a good quality vanilla extract to give it life.  I stock Nielsen-Massey extract for the holidays; it’s the good stuff.

The fuzzy fleece half-zip is everywhere right now.  It feels cozy and soft and like exactly what you need for a chilly, winter day.  This Daily Ritual Teddy Bear Fleece comes it at just-under $40.  It has a nice casual look.  I also like this Trend Notes Sherpa Fleece with black trim.  I think the trim adds a little something extra, makes it feel a little bit stylish.

If you want something that isn’t a half-zip, this Talbot’s wrap-neck top looks a bit more pulled together.  Or go with this simple crewneck from Lucky Brand.
