There was a time, in my misguided youth, where I wore makeup to the gym. Full face, foundation and everything. Now, I would never consider such lunacy. But that doesn’t mean that I want my acne, tired morning skin, and scarred up cheeks on full display.
Enter, Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment. I love this stuff. In fact, this was my very best beauty buy of 2018.
Because on the days when I do not want to wear makeup, I can smear a bit of this on my face and get just enough smoothing, concealing, and color correcting to not look like death warmed over. And should I suddenly need a full face to get through my day, I can add my makeup routine right on top of it.
It’s the perfect thing to put on for the gym for that no makeup, makeup look. Just this and a bit of mascara, and I’m done. I no longer need to feel “made up” at the gym, but I do want to look good enough that when I look in the mirror, I see my form and not my acne.
This product comes in an $18 half-ounce and a $52 for 1.7 ounces. If you suffer from acne, dark marks, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, redness, or just want to smooth things out and get a little sun protection in the process, you will not regret spending the $52. But if you are wary, and just want to test it out, the $18 jar is for you. Either way, you cannot go wrong.

Yes! And if you’re looking for a light color correction with some glow, alone or under makeup, another option is the Dr. Jart Cicapair “Camo Drops.” Both are recommended.

I’ve recently become a fan of L’Oreal Cell Renewal Rosy Tone Moisturizer for much the same purpose. A lot of days this summer I’ve enjoyed needing nothing but this plus some eyeliner and tinted lip gloss. https://www.lorealparisusa.com/products/skin-care/products/facial-moisturizers/age-perfect-cell-renewal-rosy-tone-moisturizer.aspx?shade=cell-renewal-rosy-tone-moisturizer
Yes! When I saw the title of the post I was going to come and recommend this. I just started using it for days I don’t want to wear makeup but need some spf and don’t want to look dead. It’s awesome. The only drawback is that I can’t get it near the bags under my eyes (usually I’ll blend my bb cream up under my eyes and it smooths things out a bit). Because it eliminates the red under my eyes, the purple REALLY stands out.
“And don’t want to look dead.” Truer words were never spoken.
This sounds like just what I need. Have you used/do you recommend any other Dr Jart products? I saw someone recommending the Ceramidin cream to go with this, and am curious whether it would be worth purchasing both.
I use the Ceramidin Liquid and it’s one of my favorite products—I stock up whenever Sephora has a sale. I use it under moisturizer for an extra boost of hydration. I’ve had a big jar of the Cicapair for a while but rarely ever use it because the consistency is so thick and I have trouble blending it out. Then again, I rarely wear face makeup so perhaps my technique is just poor.
I’ve just used the face cream. I would check the Sephora reviews, they’re usually pretty in depth.
I had high hopes for this to work for no-makeup days but unfortunately this did not work on my skintone (medium/tan). No matter how light a layer I applied or how much i rubbed it in, I still ended up with a pink/grey ghost effect.
Anyone have a recommendation for darker skintones?
Dr. Perricone has something called “no foundation, foundation” that is a tinted serum in a few different shades. That might be a better fit. https://www.ulta.com/no-makeup-foundation-serum-broad-spectrum-spf-20?productId=pimprod2004410&sku=2542457&cmpid=PS_Non!google!Product_Listing_Ads&cagpspn=pla&CATCI=pla-81088908510&CAAGID=17964619350&CAWELAID=330000200001739846&catargetid=330000200000199454&cadevice=c&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuInsppbx4wIVFdRkCh3qeAELEAQYASABEgKnevD_BwE
Thank you! Will check it out 🙂
Hahaha, I had the opposite effect – as a very fair skinned person, this went on too dark/yellow for me! It seems to suit a lot of skintones in the light-medium spectrum of things, but not Casper apparently.
I bought this a year ago to help with my rosacea and it is easily the best beauty purchase I have ever made. It makes your skin glow, minimizes redness, and has replaced my primer (did I mention the rest of my acne disappeared after I switched?). Highly recommend.
Sephora has a $42 kit where you can sample several of the products from this line — might be of interest!

Mine arrived and I’ve been using it for a week. All I can say is: this is the best beauty product I have EVER purchased. The effects ars remarkable: redness gone, fine lines smoothed, light glow. I look like I am wearing a filter – and I’m almost 50. So pleased that a little goes a long way.
