I’m living the uncomfortable life of being a women between two sizes. I’ve been sedentary for a few months (plus the holidays), so I think the weight will come off without much effort and I won’t need to replace my whole wardrobe. But until I’ve climbed the stairs to my office a few hundred more times, I need clothes with some give.
Enter wrap tops. Chic, and adjustable. Praise be.

The cupcakes and cashmere top’s link is to a maroon sweater, FYI.
Here’s the link to the actual top if you (like me) were bummed by the broken link: https://www.zappos.com/p/cupcakes-and-cashmere-diego-dot-printed-top-ivory/product/9166164/color/422?PID=8172428&AID=13197910&utm
Also Neiman Marcus in more sizes right now.

very nice collection. Until this post I had never considered a wrap top to get me through the post holiday middle. Thank you very much
Also great for post-baby and pumping at work! Thanks!
Hi Abra,
I’m suffering the same problem of being between sizes but I’m struggling with finding bottoms that are comfortable (tight waistbands are the worst!). I’m hesitant to buy new work pants one size up if I’m actively trying to loose weight. I honestly just want to wear leggings all day every day but that’s a no go with my current job .
Do you have any good advise on how to navigate this issue?
Check out Loft’s brushed sateen leggings. They don’t really fit like leggings and don’t feel like sateen, so I don’t know where the name comes from, but they’re really comfy. They do stretch out, but I find that when they stretch, they just fit how I’d like work pants to fit.
Figure out which pair of your regularly fitting pants you wear most, buy one pair one size up, and one skirt one size up, then you can have them taken in later.
I like Ann Taylor’s Ponte pants, they have a lot of give, and I believe right now they are $25(!?) so if you shrink a size you can always donate or consign them for a couple bucks back.
