2) I post a lot of affordable bags, but this Mango Flap Tote in blush is the best one I can remember.

3) To all the ‘bitches’ out there in the workplace. (LinkedIn)

4) These Born Wrap-around Flats look like a great casual basic with just a hint of flair.

5) Everyone likes ‘flex time’, but we punish women who use it. (HBR)

6) Get started for spring with this navy sheath from Dillard’s and this Mural structured blazer.

7) Does underpacking save you from “thinking about your clothes?” (Racked)

8) This $8 facial cleanser from Sephora is my new favorite. I love the Green Tea and the Yuzu.

Huge fan of TJ’s but I have to agree that there’s a lot left to be desired at times. That said, I love the rosemary raisin crackers with triple cream brie. It’s a game changer!

Best of luck on your exam!

She totally hit the shrimp tacos on the head. They were SOOO gross. I eat a lot of the sweet potato tortilla chips, and we buy the sweet/hot peppers and turn them into a relish. We mix it into goat cheese for cracker spread, mix it into their bland guacamole, and spread it on sandwiches.

Love that underpacking article. I’m actually headed to Vietnam this summer, where I, too, will be wearing my one black dress and sandals in a gorgeous five star hotel surrounded by Louboutin wearing posh locals. I’m going to take her advice and buy a flimsy summer scarf to dress it up.

  3. Catherine says:

Great roundup today – I will definitely be checking out those Born flats.

I gave up on poaching eggs when I learned how to make steamed soft-boiled eggs: https://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2014/04/steamed-hard-boiled-eggs-recipe.html
So much easier and more reliable, plus I can make a bunch at a time and have them ready for the whole week. Week-day breakfast success.

I’m currently taking the bar exam in CA. I completely understand your feelings from your post on Friday. I was so glad to see all the supportive comments you received. I’m assuming you decided to take the exam, which I think is great. I think its crazy/amazing that you posted today, despite the fact that you’re taking this awful exam. But, it has been so helpful to see this after a day like today. Good luck and keep fighting! Thank you for being you!

    • Belle says:

Is CA UBE? I took the exam today, bad time management killed me on one of the essays. But we press on to the MBE tomorrow.

      • Shruti says:

No, it’s not UBE unfortunately. I had bad time management today too! Which state are you taking? 2 day or 3 day? Good luck on the MBE tomorrow!! This is almost over. 🙂

Enjoyed the packing article, too. Had a vacation on which we were all allotted the same bag to avoid weighing down small planes. Turned out to be a nice discipline and we didn’t need dressy clothes regardless. Love the Tide sink pack idea. Best of luck on the bar, Belle. Thank you for this delightful blog.

  6. Whitley says:

Abra – what type of Hyaluronic Acid serum do you use? I’ve been hearing a lot about it but having a hard time finding the right one to pull the trigger on. I was interested in the Pestle and Mortar version but the price is a bit steep.

  7. JL says:

GAH I can’t stand TJ sushi!!

  8. Janine says:

For poaching eggs, check out the silicone poach pods on Amazon. I love them because they’re easy to use, and actually create a flat side, which is great for home-making benedict type dishes. Your egg stays in place! You just put the eggs in the pods (spray with a cooking spray), put them in a couple inches of simmering water, and cover for 4-5 minutes.
