6) The Outnet has this sculptural burgundy Raoul skirt and this semi-sheer peach lace top. Both are great statement pieces.
7) J.Crew’s 2017 Spring preview features acid wash, prairie ruffles, and a pair of pink satin shorts with a flower growing out of the waistband. Jenna Lyons is never going to get it. (The Cut)
8) Has anyone tried this IT Bye Bye under-eye concealer or any of the other IT Cosmetics products? I’m curious how they work.
I just purchased the IT Your Skin but Better CC Creme from Ulta. I’ve only used it a week or so, but was so amazed by it that I went back and bought the travel size tube for weekend travel. I love this stuff. It’s definitely for those of use who need heaver coverage, but the result feels light and it lasts all day (and I touch my face alot!) There are only five shades, so it’s not difficult to find your shade. Definitely worth a try!
By the way, if you want to try the CC creme, the travel tube is only $15 online from Ulta (best price I could find.)
I’ve been using a few IT cosmetics products over the past month (and I’m working on a blog post about IT for this week!) – the under eye concealer is THICK, but it stays put. I was using Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer before and while I haven’t totally switched, it’s perfect for when I’m doing more full coverage makeup. The CC+ cream is also a fuller coverage product that’s blends nicely and I’ve totally converted to the Bye Bye Pores powder.

#7: Yikes. Most of those clothes look like Carrie Bradshaw rejects. I was/am happy with the return of *some* 90’s things… but the clothes. Just no. They didn’t look good the first time!
Those are some terrible clothes. JCrew is determined to keep its head stuck in the sand.
I like the shirt dress in #14… the rest is horrid
I just don’t understand how that collection meshes (in any way) with Drexler’s new “we’re returning to classics” approach that he claims is J.Crew’s future. Talk about two-faced: tell the customers you’re going in reverse, tell NYFW you’re still trying to be Brooklyn meets Iowa and Nantucket High Fashion.
The guys stuff is pretty decent. The women’s clothes…ugh. I will say, not hating the acid wash in a few pieces, but as a whole….ugh.
Do you think they’ll ever part ways with Jenna Lyons? They’ve identified the problem causing poor sales…but she still has free reign over design? You’d think at some point J.Crew’s investors would have enough.
Those clothes hurt my head. I can’t understand what they’re trying to do. I’m completely disinterested; there are much better options on the market.
I love IT Cosmetics products. I second what Heather said that the undereye concealer is thick but does stay put when you need a little extra coverage. I also like their lipsticks/stains and their CC veil (for lighter coverage).
Quite possibly the worst collection ever! How I long for the days when J Crew was my go to…I no longer even look at the window displays as I hurry past…sigh.
I have been using the IT blush for about nine months now. It’s awesome, and you just need a little bit. I also love the company ethos.
I have one of the IT eyeliners (it was one of the products in my most recent IPSY bag) and it is awesome! Glides on SO SMOOTHLY and EASILY and stays put all day long, though it IS a little challenging to blend if you don’t do it immediately upon application. Despite that, this eyeliner has instantly become my all time favorite eyeliner pencil (though I still prefer liquid over the pencils).
I love IT Cosmetics as well! I just started using their no tug eye liner pencils because I needed a new non-liquid option. They are amazing! The black is really black, it goes on great, and it stays all day! I love their mascara too! I don’t usually wear any type of foundation or BB/CC cream, but I use the CC cream for special occasions and it works great! Come to think of it, I have the eyebrow pencil too. Another good one!
I must be crazy. Although they are not exactly work-appropriate, I think some of those J. Crew pieces are kind of fun. I love the oversize flower brooches. They remind me of Emerson Fry’s collection a few years ago. I am going to get one!
If you look at the comments on Instagram, everyone loves the collection. I do find it odd that there isn’t a single negative comment. I certainly wouldn’t buy the fishnet tops….
Yes, quite odd that there isn’t even one.
Just got an email that Nordstrom is now carrying JCrew. On the upside, at least I’ll be able to return crappy quality pieces even if I got them on sale… on the other hand, WHY?
I saw that too. I don’t think it sells very well at Net-a-Porter, so I don’t know why they’d be doing this, unless they’re planning to abandon stand alone stores.
I’ve been using the IT undereye concealer for a bit. It is very thick, and you need to use only a super small amount, or it gets cakey and sticks to any creases. But it does stay put, covers really bad dark circles, and brightens the whole area. Overall I like it, but I think I might like the Maybelline product you’ve recommended more Belle. It applies a little easier.
What about thinning it out with primer? I wonder if it would give the same effect, just less cakey.
I’m so excited to see Sephora is carrying the IT concealer – when I received the sample from Ipsy 2 years ago I wasn’t able to find it *anywhere* (how’s that for poor product marketing). I came to CHS looking for an alternative and started using the Maybelline you recommended. Maybelline doesn’t come close to the coverage in my opinion. My under eye circles vanish with the tiniest dot of the IT concealer — and that’s quite a feat. Based on the reviews it looks like Sephora is doing samples of it right now — worth trying to get your hands on one!
Maybe I need to give this a go. thanks.
Another fan of the IT cosmetics CC cream. I have been using it for a couple years and love it. SPF 50 and really good coverage that can be applied with your hands.
Another vote for It Cosmetics quality! I love the Bye Bye Redness to combat post-acne marks. Ive turned two friends on to the CC cream and they also love it. Their brushes are also fabulous.
I can’t remember if it’s QVC or HSN that carries the IT line, but sometimes you can get a brush included when you order.
