1. Anne Klein One-Button Blazer ($129) // 2. Mossimo Printed Blouse ($20) // 3. AG Stilt Jeans ($175) // 4. Coach Borough Bag ($598) // 5. Thierry Mugler Cat’s Eye Sunglasses ($89) // 6. Michael Kors Embossed Watch ($160) and Vince Camuto Chain Bracelet ($24) // 7. Cole Haan Rosalin Wedge ($228)

As Mara explains on her blog, M Loves M, “When in doubt, wear white. Or black. Or both!”  I couldn’t agree more.  This chic, understated outfit is perfect for the weekend, casual Friday or a work day if switch out the bottoms for a non-denim alternative.  It’s a simple look that could be worn in any season (if you don’t subscribe to that pesky “No white in winter” rule, which I think of more as a suggestion).

One. If you intend to wear your blazer open, I think a one-button style is your best choice.  The drape is a bit better, and it allows you to see more of the blouse underneath.  I find the quality at Anne Klein to be on par with Banana Republic, maybe even a bit better in some cases.

Want something a bit more expensive?  This Theory jacket is a great classic.  Plus-size?  Try this Vince Camuto blazer.  Petite?  This BR blazer has a slightly puff sleeve and is made in lightweight wool.

Two. A black and white blouse is a versatile wardrobe choice.  This inexpensive top from Target is a great place to start.  I also found this v-neck blouse from Chaus that has a lovely print.  Plus-size?  Try this Clavin Klein blouse.

Three. For the bottoms, white denim works well for the weekend or for a casual workplace.  For casual days in a professional office, you might try a wider leg jean.  You could also try a lined, white trouser or a white pencil skirt.

Four. My gosh, I love the new Coach bags.  If anyone has purchased one recently, I’d love to know how the quality is.  I need a new black bag for fall, and I’m looking seriously at this bag.

Five. These Thierry Mugler sunnies are a great buy.  I love the size and shape.  You could also choose a pair of black aviators.

Six. I prefer when watches have numbers on their faces, but I do like the double strap on this MK watch.  It adds a little something extra.  This bracelet is a great buy, but if you’re looking for a big chain of better quality, try this Kors bracelet.

Seven.  These black Cole Haan wedges are lovely.  The blogger in the photo, however, is wearing these Seychelles wedges.  Want something lower?  Try these Coco sliver wedges.

I splurged and bought one of Coach’s new Madsion collection bags from last season and I have to say that the quality seems very good so far. The leather is soft, but doesn’t scratch too easily, the magnetic closures and zipper are both strong. The only thing I’ve noticed is that the stitches on the leather zipper pulls might start coming loose, but that might depend bag to bag, and style to style. I’ve been very happy with mine!

I love this look, but I’ve yet to find a pair of white pants or jeans that aren’t completely unflattering on me. Lined is the way to go, I guess…

I bought the bleecker preston mini satchel and love it. It has great inside pockets. I have not had any issues with it.

I’m not a fan of coach quality or their customer service. They have a self declared problem with their hobo bags leaking glue/coming unglued. When I sent mine in for repair they suggested I not buy another hobo style bag from them if I don’t like the result…however I have a vintage coach bag that I adore and has lasted years. I think it’s hit or miss. Or maybe my bag was a lemon.
