Cold enough for you?  I’m wearing a pair of tights under a pair of leggings, under a sweater dress today.  And much like with tights, you want to choose the thickest, most opaque ones available.  Their warmer, and the heavier fabric often gives a slimmer shape.

Belle, thanks to you I am a Zella convert. It’s all I want to wear!

  2. Anna says:

I literally lived in my Zella leggings the last week and a half when I didn’t have to work and did nothing but lounge around the house or run errands.

  3. DLB says:

Just to note that wolford now has a 100 denier pair of tights. They are thicker than some leggings that I have. They are VERY expensive ($78) and have a knit in heel, which means that the heel won’t sit correctly on everyone. But it is cold here today, and I am loving them.

I really want to try the Zella leggings. Usually I’m a proud member of the cult of lululemon, but I was slightly disappointed with the last pair I got there. The waist seems to awkwardly stretch out, and I wish the rise was a little higher.

    • Anna says:

The rise on the Zellas comes up to right under my belly button, so it sucks everything in. I got a pair of Wunder Unders a few years ago which I loved. They’re a teensy bit more flattering, but I don’t think flattering enough to merit the price difference, and from what I’ve heard about the drop in quality, I don’t even know if a new pair would be as nice.

  5. Thanks to your post, I asked for (and got) a pair of Zella leggings for Christmas and I am obsessed. Trying to restrain myself from buying every other pair on the Nordstrom website!!

I’m sure you, and many others, will think I’m ridiculous but I am constantly doubling up fleece-lined tights and leggings. I loath being cold and for this southern girl anything below 40 is miserable and reason enough to double up.

  7. Ellen says:

I’m also a huge fan of fleece lined leggings. I got a pair from Shop Bop 2 years ago and they are my go to winter leggings. J Crew ones are my favorites for other times. I also just picked up a pair of HUE fleece lined tights at Macy’s today to get me though tomorrow’s weather. Hopefully they don’t disappoint. My typical, super super opaque tights are the ones from Spanx.

  8. Jen says:

Walmart has a brand of tights called George (yes, Walmart tights). They only cost $5 and rarely run. I recently discovered these tights that are fleece-lined. OMG. Amazing! With as cold as the weather has been I’ve lived in these tights!
