From Right, Hat: Melissa Obadash Hat ($160) Earrings: Slice Bolt Hoops ($58) Sunglasses: Ray Ban Wayfarers ($150) Bracelet: Stretch Wood Bracelet ($27) Bag: Bucket Shopper ($149) Top: Cotton Voile Top ($40) Shoes: See by Chloe Sandal ($260)

For Casual Monday.  A slim blouse tucked into a pleated of full skirt is a great summer look. And the navy really tones down the lime.

I originally had this outfit paired with a wood-heeled mule sandal, but I thought for the office, a “nude” pump would be best.  I also chose a darker belt because a belt that matched the shoes would have gotten swallowed up by the colored skirt.  Prefer something with a metal buckle?  I like this Ralph Lauren stretch belt.

The jewelry and the belt all have square accents to keep things uniform.  I love the way these simple square studs pair with the geometric-accented bracelet.  Need a navy bangle for less?  I like this Banana Republic bracelet for $24.

Both bags in today’s post are from Zara.  If you want a simple, sturdy, stylish leather bag for under-$150, you want Zara.

For the hair, I would wear it down for a softer look.  For the makeup, I would keep everything very neutral with sable or taupe shadow on the eye, a plum or rose blush and, if you wear lipstick, a deeper color in a sheer formulation.

For the Farmer’s Market.  I’m trying to do a better job of limiting the amount of sun I get on my face, and since I love cruising farmer’s markets and flea markets for hours, my SPF 30 sunscreen isn’t making the grade.  So I’ve decided to invest in a few hats.  I like this wide-brim Melissa Obadash hat, but I’m also considering a simple fedora or this less expensive straw hat that looks perfect for the beach or pool.

This cotton voile top is airy and light for outdoor wear, but not too sheer.  Because of the sleeveless style, I chose this stretch wood bangle, but I also liked this simple wood bracelet from Max & Chloe.

I like the look of these bolt hoop earrings, but you could go for a simpler pair.  I also spotted these “half hoops” that are pretty chic for $18.

As for the sandals, I am totally in love.  But I keep telling myself dropping three bills on sandals is crazy.  I also like these Ivanka Trump sandals and these $40 Report sandals with a gold front strap.

For the hair, I’d pull it into a low bun on account of the hat.  For the makeup, I’d keep it light and natural with a bit of bronzer and some pink gloss.

re: SPF. I’ve recently been reading up on physical vs. chemical sunscreens. Apparently chemical sunscreens fade quite quickly. And the physical sunscreens last a long time (those with zinc and titanium are physical). I’ve recently switched, and although I’ve had to spend an extra minute blending it, I’ve been pretty happy with the staying power. I’m also considering trying the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer with SPF 15 made with zinc that I saw online at Sephora. Just thought I’d share, but I still love adding a hat–we can never be too careful!

The fedora is cute, but it doesn’t look as if it would cast enough shade on your face to be an effective sun blocker.
