Don’t have a date for Valentine’s Day? Who needs one? Instead, why not treat yourself to a small gift? Here are a few Valentine’s Day gift ideas for yourself.
1. Droga Chocolates ($34 for two at GiltTaste) // 2. Deborah Lippman ‘Groove is in the Heart’ Polish ($17) // 3. Eberjey Colette Racerback Bra ($55) // 4. On the Mark Necklace ($59) // 5. Korres Lip Butter ($14) // 6. Language of Love Bracelets ($150) // 7. Drybar Gift Card Coasters ($40) // 8. Why HungerTo Believe Bubble Bath ($20) // 9. Red Heart Umbrella ($35) // 10. BCBG Carina Clutch ($51) // 11. Avanessi Love Ring ($350)
One. Chocolates are a Valentine’s Day tradition, and if you’re buying them for yourself (or for someone else), don’t buy the cheap stuff from the pharmacy. It’s Valentine’s Day, I say indulge. Droga Chocolates are a good place to start, but if you aren’t a chocolate lover, these gummy hearts are pretty adorable. You could also purchase some peppermint chocolate whoopie pies, or a delightful Belgian chocolate tarte. Williams Sonoma is also selling personalized Valentine’s Day cookies that are perfect for a loved one who lives far away but deserves a sweet treat.
Two. If you want a lovely gift for yourself, your sister or your friend, nail polish makes a great gift. This Deborah Lippman polish is the perfect shade of pink, a pop of color that’s neither too bright, nor too sheer. Want something less candy-colored? Try Lippman’s Modern Love lacquer, a muted mauve.
Three. Who says you can’t buy lingerie for yourself? After all, you never know when you might need it. I own this Eberjey set, and I love it. If the grey is sold out in your size, it also comes in black and white. Want lingerie that’s more relaxed? Try this Bluebird chemise.
Four. This pretty little pendant is straight from Cupid’s quiver. It’s dainty and sweet, and would make a lovely gift for anyone. This sweet little love birds pendant is also cute too. And while I’m not much of a fan of hearts, I like this two-tone pendant with a more modern look.
Five. A new lip color makes a great pick me up. This Korres Lip Glaze is a great gloss for the woman on the go who doesn’t have time for a brush. However, my absolute favorite lip gloss is Trish McEvoy Beauty Booster.
Six. These bracelets from Red Envelope have one word written on them, love, but you can have them engraved in one of four languages. Want to engrave a necklace with your own message, JCPenney has one available for $100. Much cheaper than the Jennifer Meyer models.
Seven. Getting a blowout at Drybar is a treat, just like getting a pedicure or a manicure. So why not schedule a bit of pampering and enjoy a perfectly coiffed do at the same time? Maybe book an appointment with a friend and then head out on the town. Or just treat yourself to a little me time with a side of great hair.
Eight. With a refreshing scent of cranberry and currant, what could make this bubble bath/shower gel better? How about the fact that 100% of the profits go to a charity dedicated to ending world hunger? So pour a glass of champagne, light a few candles and relax.
Nine. Looking for a whimsical gift? How about a heart shaped umbrella? This could make a great gift for yourself or for a young girl. You could even fill it with letters and give it to someone special. How? Well, you punch a hole in the envelope and then, using a bit of twine, tie the letters to the spokes of the umbrella, so when you open it, it looks like it’s raining love letters.
Just want a bit of heart print instead of a full-size heart? Try this Totes umbrella, or this clear one with a grafitti heart stenciled on the outside.
Ten. This BCBG clutch is a total Clare Vivier knockoff, but at $51, I’m not complaining. I also love this asymmetric envelope clutch for $40, and this box clutch with jewel clasp.
Eleven. Last, but my no means least, is this gorgeous ring. Dior made their version of this a few years ago, and since then, many designers have gotten in on the act. Max and Chloe has their script ring for $65, and Ariella Collection sells theirs for $28.
This Valentine’s Day treat yourself to a little something to brighten your day. Whether it’s a cup of coffee with a friend, a bouquet of flowers or a small gift, everyone deserves a happy February 14th.
This is so sweet, Belle! That ring is gorgeous, thank you for providing cheaper options.
Thanks for posting a “valentines gift for yourself” guide! I typically don't ever have a valentines date, but learned long ago that I love to spend the day either pampering myself or with good girlfriends and some wine!
If you're more on the Eastern side of DC, there's a great new blowdry bar called Release on H Street. I got my girlfriend a gift certificate there as a Christmas present. 🙂
