Dear Belle,
Let’s play a game. If you could buy one piece, regardless of cost, what would you buy? Anything at all.
Curious
This is difficult, like asking a chef what her last meal will be. Part of me wants to go practical and buy a handbag, something I’ll carry for-evah. Like this Alexander McQueen or this Reed Krakoff.
Then, there are shoes to consider. Shoes last for decades (Not in D.C., but you know, in cities where they don’t pave their sidewalks with antiquated technology to maintain a historical cobblestone facade. The District’s all about facade.) So maybe a pair of the Valentino Rocker Pumps that I see on every.other.blog I read? Or maybe a pair of Christian Louboutin’s in red patent?
But who am I kidding? I’m a sucker for a good dress. A great dress. An I’m going to wear this dress while I vacuum just because I can, dress!
Of course I immediately gravitated to this Roland Mouret fuchsia strapless. But wouldn’t it be better to choose a dress that I could actually wear to work? I think so.
Isn’t it dreamy? This Roland Mouret Angel Dress is almost $1,500 (yikes!) but just divine. The pleated neckline, the neutral color palette, the sleeves…Lord knows, I love a sleeve. I also wouldn’t be opposed to this green dress or this sleeveless lilac with a high neck. Or this berry dress with an architectural neckline. How about if we skip picking one item, and just buy one complete collection?
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to recalibrate my brain. Can’t spend the rest of the evening lusting after pieces that I would have to win the lottery to afford.
I really like this game! Sometimes it's just fun to drool.
Without a doubt, an Hermes Kelly bag.
Those Louboutins!! WANT.
But, if you think sidewalks here are bad, try Boston. 18th century cobblestones EVERYWHERE. sooo bad for heels!
xo
That McQueen bag is GORGEOUS.
Agree on the Kelly bag or a really nice dress watch.
