I love peaches. In fact, one of the things that I miss most about being a staffer is the peach deliveries. You see, my Boss was very good friends with a member of the Louisiana delegation who used to get deliveries of peaches his “home state product” every summer.
Once they arrived, I’d dole out half the peaches to my officemates and then take the ones that were a little bruised home to bake a peach upside-down cake or a peach tart. Then, we’d all gather in the Boss’s office for dessert before he left for recess. Ah, memories.
So I was absolutely thrilled to find a recipe for a simple peach cocktail on the wonderful blog Dixie Caviar.
This Peach Vodka Lemonade looks divine, and so refreshing. And I love any cocktail that has fewer than five ingredients. I can’t wait to pick up some peaches at the farmer’s market next week.
I love that this dress has a bright, punchy color with a dramatic cut. It would be fabulous for a summer wedding or a rooftop happy hour. And I think the high, sleek ponytail is the perfect hairstyle to bring out the modern silhouette.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend, and enjoy the nice weather we’ve been having. xoxo, Belle
Love it, Belle! I hail from that member's district and Ruston peaches are truly a treat! Glad you enjoy them too!
I used to live in South Carolina, and fresh, good peaches are what I miss the most. Buying them right off the tree, still warm from the sun (or the exhaust from I-85?) was a treat. I rarely buy peaches in D.C. because they inevitably disappoint. So thank you for the tribute and recipe. And that dress is a great color.
I found a long sleeved lace dress of a color similar to this dress, and I have a HUGE question for anyone really… the dress I found was on Delias website. I'm 26 and petite, and although I could fit into the dress and it's a lace basic dress; my question is: am I too old for Delias?
