Gift Guide: For the Blogger

Dec 13, 2010

Since starting Capitol Hill Style two years ago, I’ve met a lot of lovely women who also blog in the name of fashion.  Thus, I have a couple of bloggers on this year’s Christmas list.  While these gifts were designed primarily for a fashion blogger, they would be good for any female technophile, Internet addict or casual user of gizmos and gadgetry.

1.  Rebecca Minkoff Virginia Laptop Bag (Endless, $125)

Every woman needs a great laptop bag.  Unfortunately, most of today’s computer cases are bulky, clunky and made of cheap poly-blend.  This case from Rebecca Minkoff is simple, chic and perfect for the blogger on the go.

2.  Moleskine Hard Cover Notepad ($15)

Some of my best blog ideas come while I’m walking around the District or shopping downtown, so I like to jot down my thoughts in a Moleskine notepad.  Their hard cover makes them extra durable so I don’t need to worry about them getting beaten to death in my cluttered purse.

3.  Flip Video Ultra HD Camcorder (Best Buy, $129)

Many bloggers use photos, audio and video to spruce up their little corner of the Internet.  And since you don’t want to run the risk of carrying an expensive camera everywhere you go, this portable, Internet ready Flip Video camera is perfect for bloggers on the move.

4.  Sprint Overdrive 4G Wireless Internet ($49+Monthly Service)

Nothing is more paralyzing for a blogger than when her Internet goes down.  It’s like losing a limb.  But thanks to the fine folks at Sprint, you never have to worry about losing a signal again.  This mobile hotspot device allows you to connect your wi-fi devices to the Internet even when the web connection at your home/coffee shop/office is down for the count.

5. Crystal Blackberry Bold Case ($10)

Since everyone seems to carry a smart phone these days, there are a number of products for sale to help you personalize your device.  These Blackberry covers can be switched out depending on your mood and at just $10, you have permission to change your mind as often as you can afford.

6.  La Mer Undereye Concentrate (Bliss, $165)

Blogging into the wee hours of the morning can be tough on your skin.  To soothe that delicate under eye area, I suggest breaking out the big guns.  This little wonder may be pricey, but it does the job brilliantly.
