Jackets that are not suit blazers are essential when you need to wear a jacket every day. Whether styling it for work or weekend, it’s always nice to have a chic jacket to add to your wardrobe.
Jacket. Reiss Suri Textured Zip Jacket
This marled jacket has a modern look with classic elements. The zip-front usually isn’t my favorite style, but in the darker metal color, with the textured fabric, it works. This jacket is discounted, but it’s still a bit pricey. If you’re looking for a cheaper option, this Halogen Knit Jacket (also in plus) and DKNY jacket have a better price.
One. Calvin Klein Ruched V-Neck Dress // Sam Edelman Elise Pumps // Resin Circle Stud Earrings
This simple white sheath would be a great addition to a professional wardrobe. It could be worn in any season, and the sleek style is perfect for layering. This DKNY notched sheath dress is another good option.
To winterize the look, I added a pair of tights and simple pumps. You could also do a sock bootie or a knee-high boot.
Because it’s a mock neck jacket, I would probably wear my hair up with this outfit. I’d also bring a little color to the party with a sheer berry lip color.
Two. Fleur de Mal Silk Camisole // BR Italian Wool Pencil Skirt // Franco Sarto Calf Hair Pumps // Le Parmentier Top Handle Satchel
Navy and black is a color combination that works. I remember the first time I posted it on this blog. It seemed edgier then, but it’s still a fresh combination.
Here, I kept things simple — a navy camisole, a navy pencil skirt, and a sleek black bag. The bag is under-$250 and has a classic shape with some cool details. Want something under-$100? This Made in Italy satchel is a nice option.
I’m still undecided about the shoes. They may be a bridge too far. When I added them to the collage, I thought they were navy calf hair. They’re navy and black zebra. They may be too much, but at least in the photo, the print is pretty subtle. But if they’re too much, a simple navy pump will do. This Journee pump is a nice choice.
Three. AG Harper Jeans // BR Square Neck Cropped Top // Dune Almond Toe Boots // Roar Stud Earrings
With a simple top and an ankle boot, this could be a weekend look or a relaxed look for work. This is the kind of look that I would wear on the plane (with flats, in that case) when traveling for work.
The top is a really trendy look with the square neck and the lightly puffed sleeve. It has a slight crop to it. If that concerns you, Aqua has a similar look without the crop. I tried on this top the other day, and the crop is slight. It wasn’t an issue with high waisted jeans, even on my long torso. Plus-size? Eloquii has a very similar top.
I like these jaguar studs with the colored stones. It’s a bit of an ’80s throwback, but in a chic way. If you’d like something a little daintier, these bird earrings are fun.
Four. J.Crew Cameron Crop Pant // Threadsoft Wrap Top // Sam Edelman Leopard Flats // Adami Silver Beaded Hoops
I never tire of a colored pant. I like it because it’s still work appropriate, but it has personality. For a business casual look, I like it with a jacket and a bold flat.
This wrap-front blouse from BR is a great work option. I like it because it’s flattering on days when you’re body isn’t feeling its best. It also looks impossibly pulled together. I really like the Threadsoft line from BR. They have a lot to stylish pieces that will fall effortlessly into your wardrobe.
Lastly, I know a lot of you prefer silver toned jewelry, so when I run into a piece that I like, I save it. These bubbled hoops are a cool basic with a little something extra. They also have a nice price.

Love that jacket – these are great outfit choices!
Absolutely LOVE that jacket. Any suggestions for places that might have something similar at a lower price point? Thank you!
She put two ideas in the post.
“If you’re looking for a cheaper option, this Halogen Knit Jacket (also in plus) and DKNY jacket have a better price.”
It’s the collar that really sets this jacket apart though!
I searched for a mock neck or Mandarin collar in the same marled print and didn’t see one.
I love this entire post! But the “daintier bird earrings” link goes to a top. And as an early “put a bird on it” advocate, I need to see those earrings please!
Another request for the bird earrings link!
How is Reiss’ sizing? Are they true to sizes they publish? More or less generous?
