Linen pants are a great option for working from home for three reasons. One, they’re comfortable. Two, they’re light and breezy. And three, who cares if you’re pants are wrinkled when you’re WFH? No one, that’s who.
This outfit pulls takes a glamorous inspiration photo and turns it into something more wearable for spring work from home or business casual at the office.
Linen Pants // Ann Taylor has jumped on the summer fashion train with these pull-on linen palazzo pants. The wide leg, the stretchy waistband and (most importantly) the liner are all great features. They run XXS-XXL, also in petite.
Another linen pant option comes from Old Navy in both wide leg and slim leg styles. These also come in plus-size. These pants are not lined, however, the darker colors are completely opaque.
Button-Up Shirt // This relaxed-fit button-up from Treasure and Bond is a great shirt for summer. You can tuck it into pants, wear it over leggings, tie it off over a pair of denim shorts or wear it over a swimsuit at the pool. It comes in three neutral colors, and I recommend it highly. Other options for blue button-ups include this Daily Ritual top, and if you need plus-sizes, try this Foxcroft shirt.
Denim Jacket // I added a denim jacket because it dresses it up on a Zoom call just a bit. I also added it because a denim jacket is a great casual staple. This Madewell Denim Jacket is a great medium-wash option. It’s also available in plus-size.
Looking for something darker? Daily Ritual has a fantastic denim jacket for under-$50. They’re just about to restock sizes, so now is a great time to buy. They also have a medium and light wash on offer as well.
Sandals // These French Sole sandals are a really nice choice for summer. They’re basic, but a little dressed up, and they’ll go well with anything in your wardrobe. If you prefer more of a traditional flip-flop style, people say great things about Tkees.
Jewelry // I wanted to layer up some pendants like the inspiration photo. (Also if you want a class on bracelet layering, this photo is it.) So I chose this simple Hera necklace and the starburst pendant to go with it. If you prefer to take the guess work out of the whole layered pendant look, try this Shopbop set or this Serefina set.
Styling // With this outfit, I am probably not wearing a lot of makeup. Just a tinted balm on my lips, some color corrector, and mascara. Work from home means freedom from makeup (unless I have a meeting).
For the hair, I would something easy. I would just style mine down because it’s simple. But you could also do a simple chignon on second day hair.

I scored a pair of linen joggers from ThredUp last year and I love them! Good for hot weather at home or on vacation…someday. My only tip on linen is to size up, the lack of stretch is REAL. I tried out a pair of linen shorts in my normal size and they were skin tight and super uncomfortable.
