Work attire can be boring. So boring. Every woman needs a few fun work blouses to make it less boring.
Perhaps, fun is the wrong word. Interesting. Different. Unique. Regardless of what you call them, you should be excited to wear them.
This lace, tie-collar blouse from H&M comes in at an affordable $35. I also like this H&M puff-sleeve blouse with delicate gold accents. If you like small prints, this & Other Stories blouse has a lovely one. Or go for a big print, like this large polka dot blouse.
If you’re looking for fun blouses, Banana Republic has quite a few right now. I’m loving this printed tie sleeve blouse and this satin button-sleeve shirt. I adore this chic mock-neck blouse, but size up, because it’s a bit snug through the chest.
Specialty sizes: Plus-size ladies should check out this puff-sleeve blouse or this WHBM velvet tie blouse. Petite ladies can try the BR blouse or this bell-sleeve blouse with ladder stitching. Maternity? This strawberry print blouse and this floral-applique blouse are both fun.

This post came at the best time. I was about to email you and ask for some good blouse inspiration. I could not a ton at a decent price point that were fashionable and well made without doing some digging.
Any other brands or websites that you recommend (in general). I know you love Boden but other than that?
Thanks for the maternity piece! Please do more!
It’s hard to tell — is that lace white H&M top lined or would you need a tank underneath?
Totally agree that an interesting top can make all the difference in avoiding a ho-hum work outfit! I’m also loving this J.Crew ruffle blouse in red: https://www.jcrew.com/p/womens_category/shirtsandtops/sleeved/tiered-bellsleeve-top-in-drapey-crepe/H2197?color_name=black
Just wait until it inevitably goes on sale…
Apologies if you’ve already covered this in a previous post, but can you please recommend a good, budget-friendly camisole to wear under light/sheer blouses? I bought a pretty BR blouse at your recommendation a few months ago and need a good camisole to wear underneath it. Thanks!
Nordstrom’s house brand makes several good camis. I like the one with the thicker straps.
