Last night, the Screen Actors Guild held the other award show. The awards don’t mean much, like the People’s Choice Awards, but with bigger egos. However, I never pass up the red carpet. So let’s get to the gowns…here are my five favorite dresses from last night.
Kyra Sedgwick
Can I please look this good in cut-out Pucci when I’m 46 years old? Or even 35 years old? I could settle for that.
Jayma Mays
I love this heavily-sequined Reem Acra. The color gradiation is wonderful. The lace, see through back is pretty may-jah, too. I also adore the girly ponytail.
Dianna Agron
Fuschia, lots of fuschia. Just the right amount of ruffles, a deep v-neckline that isn’t vulgar and a belt that adds structure. The flirty, braided updo is gorgreous. And if those are charcoal nails, that was the perfect choice.
Elizabeth Chambers
This dress is proof that even a simple silhouette in an uninspiring color can look spectacular when fitted properly. This dress is the only evidence I need that a good tailor is a girl’s best friend. Now, if only her husband, Armie Hammer, wasn’t stepping on her hem.
Emily Blunt
“Oscar does the best greens.” I love this one-shoulder Oscar de la Renta dress. The pleating is splendid. However, I’m over the severe, dark hair color (it ages her), and I’m not sure why she is doing the “lean back.”
I think my inability to find the perfect sequin New Year's Eve dress is leading me toward a sequin obsession in 2012…I LOVE that Reem Acra.
Love Emily Blunt's dress, HATE her shoes. There's something very Kork-ease about them; it makes me want to throw something at her stylist.
Ooh is Kyra showing off a little tattoo, or am I seeing things? If so – does anyone know what it's of?
I agree with ALL of these!
e- Her tattoo is a “family tattoo” with intials of her fam. (according to her on the red carpet last night)
So, who do I need to sell my soul to to get that Reem Acra dress?
Oh my goodness – I missed the SAG awards so am glad you caught me up with the best dresses – OBSESSED with the Reem Acra (along with everybody else, it seems!) It is gorgeous. I also love the Emily Blunt dress – maybe the “lean back” is the new “skinny arm?” 🙂
Thank you for posting these – and for posting these bests that were different than all the rest, for the most part (Emily seems to have made it on everyone's list). Shape, color, and fit should always reign supreme
