It’s almost striped-dress season, so get excited. I know, lots of spring and summer clothes this week. But I’m ready for the freedom that someone without a car only truly has in the warm walking-around weather, if you know what I mean. I, for one, can’t wait to cruise around my neighborhood in a striped dress, aviators and a pair of flat sandals.

Still need something cheaper? This Old Navy dress comes in red and navy or black and white stripes for $19.
Plus size? This dress with thin chevron stripe comes in a handful of color combinations for under-$60.
I like GAP striped dresses. I ordered mine in a “tall” and then since it was a bit longer belted it to add definition. Look for the cotton ones. This fall they had some synthetics and they weren't as nice.

Addicted to stripes, but, at 5'5″ and a size 10, I am not sure it's the best look for me. Thoughts on this? I'd like to say screw it and just wear a dress with horizontal stripes because it makes me happy, but I don't really want to look ginormous either.
Love these. Do you think it's possible to pull off a striped dress on casual Friday? How would you style it?
Are these work-appropriate? Or could they be styled to be?
The Lilly Pulitzer Cassie is super short and not really work appropriate. I own the dress in the picture. I suggest sizing up so that it doesn't shrink in the wash and become a beach cover up, which is what mine currently is.
Swooning over that Lilly dress. Thanks to Ali for sizing recommendation- I do not need another cute dress turned beach cover up!
I'm with you….Spring! Where art thou?
I have the red & Navy striped dress from Old Navy and I'm in love with it. Best $20 I ever spent!
I recently bought the Gap dress Belle featured, and just a warning, it's gigantic an completely shapeless. I returned it and got this Gap dress instead (https://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=82420&vid=1&pid=247881012) which has horizontal stripes, but also has side panels with vertical stripes that actually give me a waistline! I love the dress…highly recommend it, and it's on sale right now.
Now I'm dreaming of a navy striped shift with this:

swoon.
I also bought the Old Navy dress in red and navy- and it was only $10 in the store! It's so cute and surprisingly flattering, even on a curvier body.
Theory has a really nice one: https://piperlime.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=566468002&tid=plpl000000&kwid=1&ap=7&mkwid=U4j00a&adid=Cebqhpg+Nqf
Probably too short for work, and go up one size if you're between sizes, but the fabric has a good feel – substantial enough not to cling; cut close enough to flatter.
I picked up the black and white Old Navy version this weekend. It's super cute and marked down to $14. I was worried that the white bands would be too transparent, but it doesn't seem to be an issue.
