Every Summer, I see a lot of women who try to wear white jeans or white pants to work and fail miserably. First off, white trousers MUST be lined. If they’re not lined, your co-workers are going to learn a bit more about you than they would have probably liked to know. Secondly, white jeans MUST be bootcut, flare leg or trouser style. Skinny white jeans are not work attire.
Once you’ve selected a pair that you like, it’s time to pick some separates. Here, we have a printed, cotton blouse and a coordinating grey cardigan. Add a pair of citrine-bead earrings to pull it all together and you have a chic look for Casual Friday.
As for shoes, whether you want a sandal or not is up to you, but I would recommend an open toe. And because a yellow purse would look like you’re trying too hard, I selected this green one instead. It compliments, but it isn’t matchy-matchy.
Business casual rule number four: If you want to wear a cardigan, a printed blouse will look nicer and more pulled together than a solid.
Business casual rule number five: If you wear white jeans or pants, make sure they have a forgiving fit. Tight jeans look fine in dark denim, but in white denim everything looks bigger. And bigger is no bueno.
Wow! This is fabulous.
Wait…what happened to Tuesday?
I'm deathly afraid of white pants. Is it really possible to wear these and keep them clean? Walking on sidewalks, sitting on benches, etc? Someone convince me. Are there preferential occasions to wear white pants? I need help.
For some reason southern girls seem to really have the knack of keeping white clean. Don't know why, but seems to work that way. It requires confidence to wear white, NO FEAR!!!
