The fashion powers that be have spoken: boat shoes are back, except we’re calling them “boat loafers.” Don’t look at me. I don’t make the rules. I’m just a cog in the wheels of fashion. Boat loafers a trendy casual option to wear with jeans in the spring or with shorts and dresses in the summer. Here are a few options in different price points.

Damn! This makes me wish I would’ve never gotten rid of my Sperry’s.
Wow, these, plus the newly revived flare jeans put me squarely back in my 2004-2008 college fashion glory days. Will popped collars be next? One can only hope…
I will say I find it to be a glaring omission that the OG Sperry’s are not on this list! 🙂
Lastly, I hope everyone remembers how much these shoes literally stink after a while.
I always thought of these as “dad shoes” because my dad wore his to the bone . Will have to let him know they are Back in Style!
Wore the OG Sperrys in the early 80s after The Official Preppy Handbook introduced them to wanna be preps outside of east coast colleges.
Being from New England, enjoying the look of boat shoes is part of my DNA. But, now here in Northern California, I wonder how hot, uncomfortable (and stinky, as one commenter pointed out), these would get when the temps climb past, say, 75F? I still love the round-up!
Love the new first category!
I know it has bee the first category for a while but I have to say I’m loving (hating?) the first pricey option title. We’re in the worst timeline 🙁
Still have my Sperrys! I try to keep up with the trends but I never seem to get rid of what I deem to be classics and this and other fashion resurgences are making me feel justified in this!
I still have my Sperrys, too! They’re my warm, rainy day shoe.
Belle, have you purchased anything from Dolce Vita? I’m looking at some of their sandal options for the summer and hoping someone can speak to the quality. Thank you!
I purchased the Kanika flat last year. For a pointy toed mule it was surprisingly comfortable. I would say the quality is fine. Probably on par with a Sam Edelman or Vince Camuto shoe- better than Steve Madden but not as good as more premium brands. Hope that helps.
I got an email from Nordstrom featuring Sperry a few weeks ago and had to do a double-take, lol! I still wear my Sperry’s from the early 2000s occasionally and almost replaced them last year…who knew I was ahead of that trend!
Thoughts on Rothy driving loafers?
Oh my god, your category titles today are everything.
I just got a great pair from H&M for $35! It’s worth noting that the boat shoes that are more ‘in’ now are different than Sperry’s old school ones – the toe box is longer.
Crying laughing at your new category!!!! LOL
